Digital Design – A Computer Science Club for 3rd thru 5th Graders (Auditorium) Session Focuses on SPORTS

Thursdays

Thursday, December 14

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The James Blackstone Memorial Library is ready to build confidence, encourage exploration and demonstrate ways in which children can be “makers” in this digital based world by creating music, telling stories, making games as well as art projects through the online program SCRATCH.

Every other week participants will work together to take on a different digital component that will introduce them to ways in which they can be makers! SCRATCH is 100% free and accessible online so children can continue learning/making from home.

Registration for this program is required so that we can plan accordingly. To do so, please call 203. 488. 1441. ext. 323.

Lock Picking for Beginners (in Lucy Hammer Room)

Lock Picking for Beginners (in Lucy Hammer Room)

Thursday, December 14

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A lock is really just a puzzle waiting to be solved. Using transparent pin-tumbler padlocks and some basic picks, I’ll teach you a variety of techniques for opening basic locks. This will be a hands-on session. There will be some legal talk, a demonstration, and then plenty of time to try to pick as many locks as you can. Taught by Jim Davis. Registration required. To register, please click here.
