As an organization that interacts with many members of the Branford community, we understand how important local businesses are to Branford — and how important the positive support of the community is for your business.

Our new initiative gives your local business the opportunity to help support Branford’s beloved library — and to receive visible recognition for your contribution: the Blackstone Library Business Circle.

We see an average of 600 visitors per day. When you join the Leadership Circle as an organization, your company will appear on our Leadership Circle board, which will be featured prominently within the library, giving your company valuable exposure within the community.

Your company will also be placed on our list of annual supporters (online and in print), you’ll be mentioned on our social media outlets, and you’ll receive a framed certificate for your business indicating that you are a member of the Blackstone Business Circle. Your gift of $125 or more can be an outright gift from the business, or the result of an on-site fundraiser, such as employee dress down days or a special sales promotion. Be creative, make it fun, and even get some great local publicity.

The James Blackstone Memorial Library serves all residents of Branford and has a significant impact on the local economy.

  • Through reading programs for pre-school and elementary school youth, we help to raise the literacy of our community and support the efforts of the Branford schools
  • Programs for teens help to keep them active and productive in after-school hours
  • Our resources are always available to those looking to improve their job searches or find local employment opportunities
  • Computer education and other adult education programs help local workers improve their skills and remain relevant in the electronic age

To do this, we rely heavily on the support of our community, and businesses can help too.  Recognizing that many area businesses are still recovering from a slow economy, we offer several affordable ways in which interested businesses can support the Blackstone. Joining our Business Circle requires a minimum commitment of just $250, which can be an outright gift from the business, or the result of an on-site fundraiser, such as employee dress down days, a special sales promotion, or a similar activity which involves employees and customers. Be creative, make it fun and even get some great local publicity!

As a member of the Business Circle, your business will appear in the Blackstone’s list of annual supporters, and receive a framed certificate for your business indicating that you are a member of the Blackstone Business Circle. For more information, please call Katy Dillman, Development and Outreach Librarian, at 203.488.1441, ext. 313, or email kdillman@blackstonelibrary.org.
