Volunteer Opportunities
The Youth Services Department is always looking for extra help when it comes to getting things done at the library. If you are in 7th grade or higher and have an interest in the library, helping the community, or need to complete a certain number of hours for school or honor society then the James Blackstone Memorial Library may be just for you!

Volunteering at the library will include: shelving, shelf reading, cutting and pasting, and preparing for programs. The library asks that you commit to a 2-hour time block on a weekly basis until your allotted hours are complete. If you cannot make it for any reason, all we ask is that you call the library at (203) 488 1441, ext. 323 so that we can plan accordingly.

The library is open seven days a week (and open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday) so we are more than happy to create a schedule that works best for you. All you need to do is complete the application. Then drop it off at the James Blackstone Memorial Library Youth Services Department located on the top floor. We will review your application, see if there are any openings, and set up a time and work from there.
