This week our construction manager at risk, Downes Construction Company, installed their Field Office Trailer on site. In the next few weeks, entry to the building from the back parking lot will be directed through the staff entrance next to the book drop. The front entry and steps will remain unchanged throughout the project.
Parking will be a challenge in the upcoming year. Please remember that the book drop located in back of the building is open 24/7 and the Friends of the Library operate a book donation bin at the Volunteer Services Center at 30 Harrison Avenue, just around the corner from the library.
While construction is in progress, there is no better time to explore the free apps offering a variety of resources available remotely with your library card: HOOPLA, Kanopy & Overdrive. Our Reference Staff are available to provide instructions; contact them in person, by phone at 203.488.1441 ex. 318, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remember, your Blackstone Library Card is good for all services at libraries throughout Connecticut, including our neighboring shoreline towns. And if you do borrow books from other libraries, you can always return them at the Blackstone for transport back home. This is true vice-versa—if you find yourself visiting one of our state’s other libraries, don’t hesitate to return your books there.
Branford is also fortunate to have the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library at 146 Thimble Islands Road in Stony Creek. Books are delivered back and forth on a daily basis for your convenience. We appreciate your patience as we build a better Blackstone!
