Maple Sugaring: How it all Works – K thru 2nd Grade (Reading Room/Auditorium)

Saturday, February 15

2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Maple trees will soon be waking up as hints of spring start to arrive.  Join us as we learn about making maple syrup from those trees.  Donna Dione, a “Backyard Sugarer” for over 25 years, will share her experiences and equipment for turning maple sap into maple syrup. We’ll have some hands-on fun making a couple of maple crafts along with learning how to tap a tree. There will even be a chance to have a little taste of some real Connecticut maple syrup!
