2020 Teen Summer Reading

Our summer theme this year @ Blackstone Library is “Imagine Your Story,” and we’re challenging you to find a story that fits your own unique reading vibe or, better yet, tell your own! Whether you’re interested in selecting a book or creating one, we have plenty of options this summer @ Blackstone Library!

Summer Programs: Looking for a way to connect with other human beings while you social distance? We’ve got you covered! The library is providing a number of digital programs & events, all summer long! Check out the teen programs listed below, or  CLICK HERE to discover & sign up for all children, teen, & adult events, while space lasts!

Other Resources: Looking for additional online classes, events, and other resources? The Blackstone Reference Librarians have been hard at work, gathering goodies from all over the internet, so we can view them in our spare time! Take a look at what they’ve found HERE.

Summer Reading: Are you a middle or high school student, looking for a great summer read? Not sure what to pick? Check out our TEEN BOOKS PAGE for a list of our top suggestions for summer 2020. Don’t want to wait? Many of these titles are available now, FREE, through Overdrive or Hoopla! All you need is a library card!

Reading Quest: This summer @ the library, join us for our first ever all-ages game that asks YOU to stay connected by completing weekly challenges! The best part is that each challenge will lead you closer to the “treasure” of your choice: multiple summer reading prize drawings at the game’s end! Plus, we are hosting a Streaming Party once our 10 week challenge is complete!

How To Play

From June 19th – August 21st you can play one of two ways:

  • as a family, only 1 email required for the whole family.
  • as an individual, 1 email per player (requires separate submissions per email, per challenge).

Once signed up you will receive a new challenge each week, decide which ones you want to complete and submit your response to the library.

How To Win

For each challenge you or your family completes you will receive a digital ticket with a link to our summer reading prize drawing page. Email us at quest@blackstonelibrary.org to tell us how you completed the challenge, and we’ll send you a ticket. The more challenges you complete, the more tickets you collect, the more chances you have to win!
